Green-Motivated Design

Clients often desire to strive for environmental stewardship throughout their approach to their architectural and design projects. Whether you desire LEED certification or want to use energy and cost efficient power, water and air systems, green-motivated design requires an understanding of effective and cutting edge products, construction and manufacturing methodologies, and, most importantly, a common sense application of all of the sometimes conflicting and often confusing product specs and processes to ensure a prudent and beautiful design project. Rick has been practicing “green” for over thirty years. He attained his degree in Environmental Design in 1977, long before it was fashionable. There was no “green-design” then just a desire to use the earth’s resources in a responsible manner and to design buildings that stand out in design but still honor the environmental site they are built on. Understanding organic, natural, sustainable, and energy efficient options; including, how to incorporate them responsibly into a project, is second nature to Rick.
